Hymn
A downloadable music game for Windows
This game was made for the "My First Game Jam: Summer 2022" with the theme of "Heal".
I. Description
Long ago, a global catastrophic event took music away from the world. The joy of sound and dance - lost in time, forgotten by the masses. Today, you, the ever inquisitive explorer, stumbled upon an ancient temple, forsaken and left to ruin in the midst of a vast jungle. The glyphs on the wall beckon to you, as if a physical sensation from an age long gone found its way back to you.
"This glyph... a... quarter note? How... how do I know that?"
Journey into the Ancient Temple of Music, and uncover the mysteries behind the catastrophe that took away mankind's greatest joy. Can you bring back music to the world?
II. How to play
The main objective of each level is to reach the portal. In order to do so you will need to collect and use magical Orbs. Each Orb allows for one-time Boost in any of 8 basic directions i.e Up, Down, Right, Left and their combinations. As the player you have to solve various puzzles to progress through levels (and perhaps come across something... interesting).
Default control:
- A/D: Move left/right
- J: Jump
- K: Horizontal Boost
- WASD + K: aimed Boosts
